Band of Survivors Team Update 6
Hello friends, family, and fellow comrades! Today was a victorious day indeed! We had the awesome privilege of claiming the city of Blue Island for the Lord and for The Salvation Army. Amen! We joined Lt. Josh and Jen Polanco (officers of the Mt. Greenwood/Blue Island corps), Major Richard and Janet Munn (officers from the Eastern Territory), and Major David and Darlene Harvey (newly appointed administrators to the Kroc center in Chicago) in Blue Island’s 4th of July parade. We marched through the streets with guitars, timbrels, and drums singing “Marching on the Light of God,” claiming Blue Islands independence from the Enemy and declaring the land conquered for the Lord Jesus.
After parading through the streets, announcing and proclaiming the victory of the Lord, we went to the new building where the corps is relocating where Major Janet Munn lead us in a Pray the Bible session. Each scripture was linked directly to a need associated with the move.
This is what we prayed:
-Psalm 2 – Focusing on “Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?” as there has been some obvious opposition to the church plant.
-Psalm 24 – Praying that the King of glory may come in through the gates of Blue Island.
-Joshua 1:3ff – Knowing that the Lord will give us “every place where you set your foot,” we prayed over Lt. Polancos and future leaders of the corps to be very strong and courageous.
-Isaiah 84:2ff – Praying that the Lord would expand the ministry of Blue Island.
-2 Kings 4:34 – Praying that Blue Island’s ministry will raise the youth from the dead.
-John 8:32 – Praying that certain lies and falsehoods that have been spread would be put out by the truth.
-Isaiah 61 – Praying that the Spirit of the Lord would anoint and rest on Lt. Josh and Jen -and
the leaders of Blue Island.
There were needs expressed, and each was met by scripture. The Lord is moving amongst us and we praise the Lord for it.
After praying the Bible, Survivors went to the Mt. Greenwood Corps for Cell Groups and then went to the Polanco home for a 4th of July Barbeque. We had good food, great fellowship and a hilarious time of doing impressions of one another.
We ended the night by watching the fireworks in Blue Island.
