Band of Survivors Team Update 5

This morning we woke to a day of rest, study, and worship with God. Mondays are our day to recover from the rest of the week. In the morning we worshipped with music for a little while and then we had a “Salvation Circle.” Nate came up with this idea. A Salvation Circle is where everyone gets in a circle to explain their salvation story. It was also a time to confess to each other sin in our past or our lives. It was an incredible experience to hear everyone confess their sin and be freed from feeling like they were the only one who dealt with what they were going through. We are a stronger group for confession. We can help each other and keep each other accountable to following God without hindrance now. It was definitely a breakthrough.

When that finished at 3:00 P.M. (it had started at 11), we chilled for a little bit and then had lunch. Following lunch we practiced marching for the Blue Island 4th of July Parade. Lots and lots of marching. It’s kind of a new form of marching. We’re not able to use brass for marching because not enough of us play brass L. But that’s ok. So we’re using guitars instead. Six of us are playing guitar, seven of the girls are marching with timbrels, and all of us are singing the song Marching On. It’s going to be great. I’m really excited about marching through the streets of Blue Island. We’re doing this to show the people of Blue Island who and what the Salvation Army is and to literally claim the land for the Lord.

Following marching practice we had dinner and then cell groups. After this most of us tried to head of to bed. We have an early start tomorrow. We’re excited and expectant for what the Lord will do tomorrow.
