Band of Survivors Team Update 21

We serve an Awesome God. The Lord has taught the Band of Survivors lessons in patience, generosity, love, kindness, discipleship and discipline. Soon we head back to our homes and communities and I must say – so many BOS members are excited to continue to spread truth to people who desperately need it. Praise God.

My day began with a nine to noon prayer shift. Such a privilege to spend time with the Lord. By the time I headed to lunch the team was in cleaning mode – each member had a broom, rag, or bottle of all-purpose cleaner (amazing stuff!) in hand. We spent the next four hours cleaning the CFOT with a lunch break in between. I was so proud of the kids as they took cleaning very seriously and did a great job. Before dinner we had a brief planning period for our final meeting tomorrow which will be held at the Chicago Temple Corps.

The evening ended with debriefing. We talked about going home and sharing what we’ve learned with our friends and family in a positive and meaningful way. We also had an “encouragement circle” where BOS members sat in a circle and one person started with a ball (a Dodgeball, to be precise), then threw it to someone and explained how that person has been an encouragement to him/her/the whole group. It was an uplifting and emotional time and I thank the Lord for the opportunity to experience community in this way and to make new friends in Christ.

It was an excellent day filled with many blessings.
