Band of Survivors Team Update 20
The 18th of July was today. We only have two days left of Band of Survivors. I woke up with a cold today but it wasn’t that bad. We all first had cell groups and there was a good lesson learned comparing Moses and our intimacy with God. We then finished getting ready and had grilled cheese, tomato soup and left-over Thai food for lunch. Today we all had our cell group project focusing on evangelism. So after lunch we had another blessed meeting of Praying the Bible for the ministry we would do today during our cell group project. We each did something different; some went to feed the homeless, others went to evangelize in the streets and at Wrigley Field. My group went to hand out water to people in the park area near the lake. The park and lake were beautiful today, unfortunately we didn’t have many opportunities to talk to people and a couple of the groups felt the same, but as we sing in the Army: “Never Mind, Go On!” We’ll go on! Our group had to walk all the way back to the College but stopped to eat on the way in this small Mexican place. It was good.
We then ate dinner at the College but I had a prayer shift. Later we had a debriefing meeting about the whole trip, just writing down what we are going to do at home and at our Corps. There were a lot of good ideas that were shared and we also planned out our regular weekly schedule to see when we would fit in time with God. After that was over we had an outing to a Mexican restaurant and Coldstone. We ate outside and it was fun. Then I wrote this update and am waiting to go to bed. Continue to pray for us and that our plans may be the Lord’s plans and that things would actually take place in these Corps. The Lord bless you.
