Band of Survivors Team Update 2
Hello from Wisconsin! It’s our fifth day as a team and everything’s been great! Today we continued our ministry at the Waukegan Corps. Most of the time there was spent preparing for tomorrow’s block party. We’ve got all the games and activities ready to go, and we’re expecting a good turn out. Please pray that God would use us. The team spent an hour or so on a prayer walk around the corps. It was a great time for us to prepare our own hearts and to pray for the people we’ll come in contact with.
Other than our cell group time, much of today was spent in solitude. Many of us took time to read a book that’s a part of our curriculum called Helps to Holiness by Samuel Logan Brengle. I recommend it to all of you. We also received our second scripture verse to memorize: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. We are praying for holiness as a team.
Tonight we also had a Prayer and Praise Night at the corps. There were over fifty! Dave Witthoff brought the message from Hebrews, challenging us to meditate on the new covenant and our personal relationship with Christ. During the praise and worship time a seven year old boy named Caleb asked “Jesus Christ to be his friend.” He shared his testimony a few minutes later during the testimony time. The night went well, and the Spirit was with us.
Thank you for your prayers. We ask that you would continue to lift us up as we grow as a team and grow in holiness.
