Band of Survivors Team Update 1

Hello dear friends and family! How is everybody doing? We hope all is well with you guys! We send our greetings from camp Wonderland up in Camp Lake Wisconsin; we have been camping out (yes, in actual tents) for the past four days and have enjoyed getting to know each other as a team and as Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

Today was our first day of actual ministry at the Waukegan Corps. Captain Jeff and Valerie Carr were excited and so welcoming to us when we arrived. We helped clean out the basement (I know, every corps officers dream) and organized all the materials we are using for a block party on Saturday.

The main event for us today was a kid’s open air that went wonderfully; we had face painters, people making balloon animals, and soccer and basketball players ready to receive the children that were playing at the park. After drawing a crowd we sang songs; one of which was “Stop, and let me tell you what the Lord has done for me” which is exactly what we were there to tell them. We then told the Gospel story using a huge Evange-cube (thanks Barb Higgins) and all the little children repeated a prayer in which they accepted our Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, it was awesome!

The team worked really well together and everybody fulfilled their responsibilities wonderfully!

We ask you continue to pray for out team and our ministry as we are now in the midst of our 24/7 prayer shifts and our ministry at Waukegan.

We are expecting the Lord to do great things in us, those around us and in you during this summer!

Peace & Love
Lindsey Juliette Bailey
