Band of Survivors Team Update 13
Today was dedicated to the Chicago Temple Corps. Upon arriving we received a very warm welcome. Since we were at Chicago Temple to help, the tasks of cleaning the computer room and helping prepare lunch were given to us. The computer room had a lot of donations that were needed to be moved. Once this task was completed, the Band of Survivors had the opportunity to become crafty and decorate the room. Coloring the bulletin board blue and green as well as hanging up some pictures really brightened up the room. As part of the team worked on the computer room, the rest of the Band of Survivors helped prepare chicken and fries for lunch. Although this was all good, the true blessing came when we had an ice cream social with the residents of Booth Manor, a retirement home that was connected to the Corps. I think we all went in there with the mindset of helping our elders when in fact the elderly blessed us by sharing their faith and wisdom. Praise God for that opportunity. We closed our day by having a visit, prayer and time of sharing with Colonel Denny Phillips.
